Halloween 2009

Overall we had a good Halloween. I really didn't go trick or treating last year with Mary Reilly so I was a little disorganized...(I know me disorganized who knew) Next year I will be ready! Mary Reilly was a ballerina and Anna Grace was a strawberry. I didn't take many pictures of Mary Reilly because my camera wasn't working and she wouldn't stay still. My neighbor took some so I will update when I get those.
Anna Grace was asleep by house 4. Mary Reilly stayed kicking to the end. I thought the tutu (which I proudly made with my own 2 hands) would be off by house 2 but she kept it on. We did have a problem with her shoes. I bought a 1/2 size too bug because Target didn't have her size. They kept falling off. I will blog about those later.
I see Mary Reilly doing more "big girl" stuff everyday. Her words are endless. She turned 20 months a few days ago. My baby is almost 2...

Next year I will have 2 kids running around. Oh I am soooo looking forward to that!!!! :)

The pumpkin patch 2009

We have been sick in this household this week. Mary Reilly on Tuesday and Anna Grace on Wednesday. I feel like I live at the doctors office! I have wanting to go to the pumpkin patch for weeks now but the weather hasn't been good. This whole week it rained or it was cold or we were sick. Luckily Ladson was off today so he went with us. I couldn't have done it without him. You had to go on a hay ride to the pumpkins. Holding both girls would will be rather difficult.
Mary Reilly loved picking out Anna Grace's pumpkin. We bought large one for her and a smaller one for Anna Grace. As you can see, it was slim pickings the day before Halloween.

I tried to get a good picture of the girls but a "no nap" Mary Reilly wasn't cooperating. Maybe next year! :)

The "Thing" and it's loud

We have had this "thing" in our carport for a week now and I haven't mentioned it. I guess I need to because I think Ladson's feelings are hurt. My husband bought a motorcycle. He can't ride it since he doesn't have a motorcycle license. Thanks to our neighbor Clint (who has the same kind of bike) rode it home for us. In Virginia you have to take a course which Ladson is at this very moment. I actually bought this for him. He has also wanted one and since he gives and does so much for all of us I thought he needed something fun. I have reminded him this is his anniversary, Christmas and birthday gift (for the next 10 years!!..j/k) I don't know much about it. I do know It's a 2000 Victory. I told Ladson that if he gets hurt on this I would be very very mad at him..He said "do you know what I do for a living?" Ladson is taking the Harley Davidson course and has his driving test on Sunday. Oh I hope he passes!

American Dream

I am a big fan of American Girl dolls. I have four and Mary Reilly has one (Santa is bringing AG one) so when out about her I was shocked. She is Gwen and she is homeless...yes homeless. Could they not come up with anymore ideas? They also have a black, Mexican, and a Jewish doll. Who thought of this? I know that some people have been loosing their jobs but really? For $95 she can be yours!

Target diapers

I am not one to buy store brands. From personal experience they don't taste the same or do well. Yesterday I went to target (because I had a coupon) to get diapers. I saw these diapers on the shelves a while ago and didnt think much of it. Yesterday I decided to try them out. I was pleasantly surprised they do work. No leaks...yet. A jumbo pack is $6.95 compared to Pampers which is $10. I will report back when the pack is finished.

Smithfield VA/Norfolk Navy exchange

We were on our way to Norfolk VA when Ladson decided to take the back way. On our way was Smithfield (where the ham comes from). Once you drive into Smithfield there is the processing plant to the right. All you can smell is bacon. So yummy. I wanted a ham. We finally found the little shop. Personally I thought it would be bigger than this. I went into the little shop and looked for some ham until I saw the price tag. I like ham but I don't like the $75 price tag. I did buy some country ham slices for Ladson and some chicken breading. Let me just say it was the best chicken breading I have ever used.
**You may notice that most of these pictures are from the car. Ladson wouldn't let stop because he didn't want to look like a tourist**

There were incredible deals at the navy exchange. Ladson bought a Vineyard Vines shirt for $25! Yes I said Vineyard Vines! Unfortunately no Vineyards Vines for women..or at least I didn't see any. They also had a Brooks Brothers, Victoria's Secret, Kate Spade and Lacoste. This is the largest exchange I have ever seen.
Ladson also bought me a new computer. My old one crashed and it would have cost the same just to buy a new one. I like it because it is pink!

Hamburger

Last night we had a babysitter so we decided to go out to dinner with our neighbors. We went to Capital Ale house. They have 80 beers on tap and over 300 different types available..just up my husband alley. So you probably are wondering what does this have to do with a hamburger? I ordered one! No big deal right? Wrong...This was the first time I have ever ordered a hamburger in a restaurant. I didn't even know how I wanted it cooked. I just stared eating hamburgers at home when I was pregnant with Anna Grace. Don't get me wrong I do love beef and I am no vegetarian. I just didn't like anything with ground beef.

I still haven't tried them at a fast food place yet...It might be another 28 years before I do that.
